Off Again To Dive With The Seals , Lundy Island

Fri 5th July 2013

Trip Report

Seals, Sun and lots more seals! What a super day.
It’s taken us a few attempts to be able to get out to Lundy this year but suffice to say it was a day well worth the wait. The sun shone, the water was calm and clear and the seals just conveniently posed for some fantastic photo opportunities. They swam up close, curious to investigate the divers, nibbling at fins and nudging cameras. Well done our newly qualified divers, what a dive to start with, the perfect diving day and lunch wasn’t too bad either!
Sorry for those of you that missed our free first trip to Lundy lunch offer, since it was actually the forth planned trip but you never know, if you are booked on further trips this year you might just be in luck.
Here’s to a July full of sunshine, Seals and more fantastic diving days.
One life, Live it, love it, dive it.

Trip Details

Hopefully a nice summer’s day out to dive with the seals out on Lundy Island, this has proved an incredibly popular trip over the last few years. We have been treated not only to the seals coming to play and nibbling our fins but dolphins bow riding the boat and even once a passing whale, have a look at the previous trip reports. The price will remain the same as last year.

But remember these are wild animals and I cannot guarantee they will want to play.

We will be leaving Ilfracombe onboard Obsession 2, at about 9am, back at about 5pm, the trip to the Island takes about 1 1/2 hours, we will find the seals and then get kitted up for 2 dives with them. You only need to be an Open Water Diver or even a snorkeler. Diving is best in the 5m area and leave the rest to the seals. Bring a camera if you can, I hope you will not be disappointed.

2 instructors will be on board, so if you would like a guided dive, no problem, no extra charge.
